Events
Please note: The schedule is correct as of press time, and will be updated periodically, but circumstances beyond our control may necessitate changes in schedule which may not be reflected here.
May 26 Official first day of trolley operating season for public rides. Passengers board at the
carbarn at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Pine Street.
July 1 Yakima Trolley Centennial Parade in commemoration of the founding of the Yakima
Valley Transportation Company 100 years ago. Every operable trolley and electric
locomotive will be operated in the parade, which will follow Pine Street from 3rd Avenue to
11th Avenue. This event is free and will be a good opportunity for railroad buffs to
photograph each of the YVT trolleys and
locomotives in action.
September 3 Official end of trolley operating season for public rides. Sometimes if the weather
permits and crews are available, the trolleys continue to operate as late as early October.
Trolley Charters are available all through the year, again depending on weather and crew
availability.
September
29 The Yakima Valley Trolleys
Association will participate in the Sunfair Parade.
December 22 Christmas Trolley and Centennial Re-enactment of Yakima’s very first trolley run
100 years ago. Christmas Trolleys will provide festive public runs for the holiday, featuring music
and refreshments. Fares are rolled back to what they were in 1907: 5 cents.
