The future of Yakima’s trolleys is on the line—literally.
The City of Yakima is planning to rebuild 6th Avenue. One of the options they’re considering? Removing the trolley tracks entirely. That would mean the end of trolley rides to Selah, and the loss of the last intact example of an early 1900s interurban electric railway in the country.
We think there’s a better way. A way that honors the past, builds community pride, and keeps this incredible piece of living history rolling.
